Does the orientation of the pattern matter? by rhoing

Does the orientation of the pattern matter?

As I was editing, I wondered if it would matter (aesthetically) whether the “midrib” (the primary, usually central vein of a leaf*) were

• steep and sloping up-and-to-the-right (as in the image);
• relatively flat, but sloping up-and-to-the-right;
• steep and sloping down-and-to-the-right;
• relatively flat, but sloping down-and-to-the-right.

I went with steep and sloping up-and-to-the-right, but would it matter to an "average" viewer? I wonder…

It was another low-frames day and I just couldn't post another Phalaenopsis.
