So says a friend of mine. We're going to put a chair rail around the dining room and I am *not* going to cut chair rails with a hand saw and plastic miter box. I also plan to build myself a proper work bench and I'm not going to make all the necessary cuts of 2×4s with a hand saw. So after picking the brains of two of my brothers-in-law, I have settled on an inexpensive compound miter saw (not a "slider").
These are just practice cuts on a piece of scrap so I could learn what the saw sounds like and feels like...
