“Rediscovering Pluto”

Forsythia flower indoors. Taken with GorillaPod on the kitchen table.

The title? From http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/pluto-discovered: Using calculations from Percival Powell and W.H. Pickering as a guide, Clyde W. Tombaugh discovered Pluto in February, 1930 by use of a new astronomic technique of photographic plates combined with a blink microscope (or “blink comparator”). See http://www.discoveryofpluto.com/blink.html

Well I don't have a blink comparator, but I did toggle back-and-forth between this image and the succeeding image to discover exactly which "spots" in my images are on e-v-e-r-y blinkin' image (pun intentional). In other words, there are spots somewhere inside the lens or camera. Sigh. I bought some Dust-Off in the hope that the spots are from dust, but my fear is that with all my visits to the campus greenhouse — i.e., moving in-and-out of wildly-different temperature and humidity conditions — the spots are water spots from condensation. Sigh again. Glad I repaired my P&S…
