This is a water *level* or lake level that rowers love: you can stand on a mostly-dry dock, but the riggers are above the dock. (That means you can pull the hull next to the dock.)
Wonder what a sculler takes in the boat with him/her? For me: two water bottles, one cell phone, one camera, one key (to get back in my car). Everything either floats or is secured to the shell.
