Gray Hairstreak

First Gray Hairstreak post of the season. These guys are pretty cute, especially "twerking" the "tails" off their hind wings. Can I put "twerking" in the tags for the post? As mentioned yesterday, butterflies-from-the-side lend themselves to square images.

I went to the lake and rowed today, but there were no water breaks. I rowed 11,500m (7.1 miles) in just over an hour without a break. I guess this answers the question many fishermen ask me, "How fast can you go in that thing?" Answer: about 7 mph. So no water-break-photos and this is a shot from our back yard garden.

Confirmed at BAMONA as “Strymon melinus” or “Gray Hairstreak”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/1101610
