A ‘before’ photo?

We are probably going to pull the trigger on a kitchen update.

The cabinets will go.
The countertops will go.

And [part of] the soffit may go. See the light upper-left in the photo? It's embedded in a box hanging down from the ceiling coming toward the camera's perspective. It was supposed to be above a "peninsula" counter, but the initial buyer wanted an island, which you see at the bottom of the photo. So this is a design/construction disconnect that has survived for 25–26 years since the house was built.

@janeandcharlie Oh, gosh, no! I want full-time carpenters reconfiguring the ceiling, full-time flooring guys putting down the tile, ... Also, and this perhaps should be first: I want this done in finite time!
