Its final southern Illinois journey by rhoing

Its final southern Illinois journey

This morning we bid adieu to our friend Ellen, and then it was off to Chattanooga for this rowing shell (and a pair of oars). I found a buyer and will meet him in a parking lot and exchange these items for cold, hard cash. Future issues and repairs are no longer my concern. (I still have one boat for sculling.)

Edit. A few comments on how long this shell is. It’s 26 feet long (or so). Weighs less than 35 pounds. Here is a better shot of how this looks on top of my car.

Safe journey. I never realized how long and slender these were.

@randystreat This one is about 26½-feet long … and weighs about 35 pounds. Not much to it in terms of material, but very cleverly designed and built! Some of these shots show a bit of what's “under the hood”: https://365project.org/tags/coffey

You would have to be careful with that length on your car roof top!
