I usually like to use my Pixel phone camera in “Portrait” mode, as this blurs the background. But I have also discovered that one can blur the photo after-the-fact, and that's what this is. The original image was shot in “Camera” mode, but edited to blur the background. Interestingly, the building awning — visible to the left of Big Boy’s right ear — is sharply in focus, while other objects that are significantly closer (the shrubs on the right and even the statue’s pedestal) are nicely blurred…
Once again, I have lost my enthusiasm for this project (for a variety of reasons). This photo was taken 112 days ago. We have been out-of-town for several weeks of this intervening period and I’ve begun working on a 10-hour class to present to the local retirees in the spring. So posting here has been pushed down the priority list in the daily routine. Post number 3,536, so it’s not like I’m even close to a milestone to target. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@marlboromaam Yeah, but there comes a point (at least for me, I think) when I'm so far behind that I'll just abandon the maintenance part of the project. I have discovered a couple of 365'ers who haven't posted for *years*, but their accounts are still active. I asked one of them how that could be. The response was that they receive an email from the site when they've been inactive for some period of time and then she just logs in again. Since I frequently use my posts as a reference for information or dates, I'd like to keep it active, but…
This photo was taken in Ohio during the gathering of all the siblings for the annual [creative] croquet game. One of Clare's siblings withholds permission for ever having their image-or-likeness being posted online and I'm tired of asking permission from the others. So that's why there are no posts from the previous two days here.
Covid has kept us from traveling except to visit family and with ten years on this site, I feel like I've photographed about all there is to photograph in my immediate vicinity. And with a busted long lens, the butterfly-and-bug opportunities are hit-or-miss with a short lens or phone camera. Sorry to whine!
@rhoing I understand. I may eventually hit the same outlook and soon. I'll keep up my membership and post when I feel like it. There are many others who do the same thing. But unlike some, don't let it your membership lapse. Otherwise, all your photos go bye-bye.
I remember "Big Boy" and eating at Shoney's restaurant! They had great breakfast and hot fudge cake!
I've been where you are with posting, but with retirement I have more incentive to stay active both physically and mentally.
As Mags and Kathy have said above, you will have to decide what is best for you!
