Ramshaw view

My first filler! I took this yesterday and it didn't come out as I wanted it or as the scene looked but I like it enough to post it. In reality, the sky was a beautiful orange colour and on the horizon you could see the Wrekin and other hills in Shropshire but I didn't manage to capture those important details!

The jagged rocky outline is where I grew up, Ramshaw Rocks to the left with the Roaches to the right.
Not too bad at all! Do you have any editing software that would "protect the shadows" but leave the highlights alone? Nikon ViewNX2 would call it "Shadow Protection," and that probably did come with your camera? I think you might find that gives you a great deal more detail in the dark foreground. Sorry if that is obvious to you after a year here on 365. i think there is a brilliant shot lurking here!

It's very atmospheric the way it is. For some reason, it reminds me of Egmont Heath in The Return of the Native -- dark and brooding.

Beautiful landscape. The landscape is very different from here but the weather seems to be more or less the same ;-)

As usual the shadow detail only comes out in the large view. Now that Mary's mentioned it I agree about the Hardyish atmosphere.

Looks like it is a very nice view. Wish I could spend some quality time in the Lake District.
