a unique postbox

I was planning to photograph the view in yesterday's photo as the weather forecast looked good for me, but I guess the weather front moved a bit as we ended up in the fog all day again. I found myself having to go in to Buxton this afternoon which was handy as I needed to photograph this postbox this month... it's a Victorian hexagonal one and is, so I've read in one of my books, unique as it is the only one in Britain that is still standing in its original location. It dates from 1879 I believe.

..and fabulous it is too Louise. @fueast tends to go for extreme lone post boxes, but I am sure that this will appeal despite its gentler setting.

I think it is Lisa, I've never used it myself but it does have modern looking collection times on it so I'm assuming it is still used.
