It's not really a castle but it's an interesting building and it's full of horseshoes presented to the Lord of the Manor by visiting peers of the Realm and Royalty. More about this place on my blog:
We stopped at this historic market town on the way to our holiday destination - a premier inn near Kettering! Not somewhere I'd choose for a holiday ordinarily, an unusual choice I know, but we were due to be there for a music festival which was then cancelled a week before it was to take place. Our hotel was non-refundable so we ended up making our August holiday near Kettering this year... we made the best of it and found lots of great places to explore.
Only for the birdfair - we need to go back one day and visit Rutland Water properly.
