@tristansmum@jaynspain@pennystot@aurorajane We did a little christmas shopping today and have put our last bit of change in to fill it right to the top... now it's all tipped out on to some newspaper in the living room! We will start sorting and counting after dinner! This money will be added to our house deposit fund :)
Oh goodness we have one of these but it has never been actually filled; it gets to a quarter or a third but no further. would be interested to know how much, we usually get £80 out of a part bottle
@claireuk
Hi Claire - I've counted it and took it all to the bank this afternoon! There was roughly £240 in it, which was actually a bit disappointing! There was a lot of silver in there only £22 in coppers!) and I know in the past, when not so much silver went in, I've emptied it when it's been only around a quarter full and had £90 out of it, so I thought there might be something around £350 in there! Oh well, it all adds up! We had a £1 coin jar too with £220 in it, so we've made a reasonable contribution to the savings out of it all. We've decided to abandon copper coins now, they take up so much space in the bottle, but were hardly worth saving, so the new plan is coppers will go in charity boxes and silver and gold coins only in the whisky bottle!
@roachling Oh Goodness I would have been disappointed too; but to coin a phrase every little helps (how many bad puns in there)
I think I would rather go the quarter and take the £90:0) Still well done for both jars filled and contributing towards Christmas. Have a good one, although it is my intention to post and comment this weekend - hopefully :0)
