Our yellow, sun-baked land. by roachling

Our yellow, sun-baked land.

I've really noticed this week just how yellow the land is looking, instead of green and pleasant. It's a tinder box right now and locally, there are two moorlands and some woodland on fire - burning for several days. I'm not a fan of hot and sunny weather. When is it going to rain?!

I like the sunny weather, but the fires are rather worrying. I drove up the motorway the other day and I could see the smoke from miles away. We could do with some rain.

I love the sunshine, but would like just the odd down pour. Before you know it we'll be at a standstill because of the snow.

Wow Louise - I never think of England as being yellow and sun baked - but this sure is dry looking. That could easily be an Aussie landscape!

@robz It isn't usually. It's an unusually hot and dry couple of months here, no sign of any rain yet.

Yes, there's a drought in my neck of the woods too. They seem to have managed to keep the rain over Wimbledon!
