My family are not big fans of Christmas. We all hate it really - we're a family of 6 adults and my sister and I haven't had children, so there are no little ones to make it fun. This year, we agree to change it and instead of all giving each other money out of obligation (absolutely pointless really) as we don't know what to buy for each other, we're doing a secret santa where we have a budget for a 'proper' gift plus an additional budget with which to buy a "whimscal" gift as well, a gift that basically takes the mickey out of the recipient - either nodding at one of the stupid things we've done throughout the year or picking up on what my dad termed the 'general weirdness' of the individual!
As the most organised person in the family, I'm organising uniform wrap and tags so we can remain anonymous santas so this evening, whilst watching War of the Worlds, I was busy starting to get things ready!
