Skimmers by robv

Skimmers

There were at least 50 Black Skimmers grouped on the shore in Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve. Given the oddball names for groups of other birds like a murder of Crows, gaggle of Geese, covey of Quail etc. perhaps these deserve their own distinctive moniker. A Shimmer of Skimmers? I'll quit while I'm....... I guess that's for you to decide :)
Oh!! Is it that time already?!?

Hi Robert..May 24 at a botanical garden I took this picture of a bud on a tree..(no names were given) question is and almost all say it's a pussy willow...but I'm not too sure. may I ask you for your expertise in naming this one?

what a great shot! Their formation reminds me of a charley harper print. Looks like they're harmonizing together on the left!
