Help!!! What is this doing?????

I have NO idea what is happening here - it is just very strange. This photo was taken through a flyscreen looking down onto shops. All OK. Then I tried to edit them - the lines shown by the screens - on the same photo!! - changed as I did various edits!! Enlarging or diminishing the image made them change - but then when you saved the result and reopened it they looked the same. I made this collage by saving the images as screen shots at various enlargements. It seems to be something to do with the pixels - but I have no idea what!! If anybody has any suggestions I would really appreciate it!!
Can't answer this for you Rob, but I have noticed seen a similar effect in photos of clothing with small checks?

@dkbarnett Thanks Delwyn - I wonder if the small checks are doing the same thing as the small squares in the flyscreen. It must have some sort of physics or electronics explanation - just wish I knew what it was!! :)

Like Mariana says, whatever it is, it's an interesting effect.

You are getting a moiré pattern. It's a common effect of distortion or interference when you look through a screen such as this using a lens or if you try to take photographs of a scene on a television screen. Look it up, you may enjoy reading about it!

@mv_wolfie Hi Mariana - it's bit crazy when it keeps changing all the time!! LOL

@bintal Hi Sylvia - It is interesting - I thought it did give it a bit of a surreal look. It's interesting to read about it - Casablanca told us it's a Moire pattern.

@taffy Hi Taffy - Casablancas info made a lot of sense - and it was good to read up on it - once I knew what it was. What a great hobby! :)

@casablanca Hi Casablanca - thanks so much for the info and it was very interesting to read up on it. The changing distance between the pixels as you magnify etc explains the changing pattern. Just fascinating. Cheers Rob
