This is wattle.. by robz

This is wattle..

"This is the wattle,
Symbol of our land.
You can put it in a bottle,
Or hold it in your hand."
My crazy husband loves telling this silly jingle to small children - always gets a quizzical look from them!!
Is it a fisheye? Nice colour and nice jingle!

Great effect (but still waiting for that b&w) :)

@caterina HI Caterina - it is another fisheye - they seem quite fun to play with. :)

@robz thank you!

@madeinnl Thanks Ko - you don't think that the b&w abstract would do for a while? :) Still looking for another..... I think I like colours too much! :)

Hehe, that's one way to confuse the kids :)

Fun with a fish-eye- we could almost be swimming in a fish bowl with the way it looks. Good shot.

Well done

Yess, love it, the rhyme and the wattle. I thought I knew all the old school-yard rhymes, clearly not. Our Cootamundra is nearly out, that's the first of our several varieties.

Ha ha, great rhyme! I like the way you took this. I really must get a fisheye or a fisheye effect. It's such fun!

Beautiful detail and reflections and jingle makes me smile

@olivetreeann Hi Ann - Thanks for your nice comment - the fish-eye effect is quite fun to play with. :)

@cocobella Thanks Very much!

@golftragic There are so many and so they are so varied - all the different colours and structures - but all so tough! All seem so aussie - but apparently they have them in South Africa as well.. :)

@casablanca Hi Cassablanc a - glad you like Errol's little jingle especially because it must mean you've recovered from your hospital stint! I don't have any special lens's - just the inbuilt effects in my Cannon Point and Shoot. They seem to work quite well! Quite fun! :)

@jgpittenger Thanks Jane - this was pretty much SOOC - the early morning sun did all the work. Glad you liked Errol's crazy jingle. :)

@nobled Thanks Dorothy - this wattle ( Silver wattle maybe?) always has great colour. :)

Very pretty.

@robz Going to have to check out my camera and see if mine does anything interesting like this. I notice there is a button called "effects" but I have never been able to work out what it does LOL!

@skippysue Thanks Susan. Cheers Rob

@robz Maybe the SA ones came from here, like the eucalypts.
July 9th, 2018
@golftragic Could be - but I hve a feeling they have very large and spiky tree forms too - not like anything of ours. I didn't realize their eucalypts were imports. You learn something every day!! Cheers Rob

@robz Oh yeah, now I know what you mean. Their acacias don't seem to be like our wattles. As for eucalypts they're now found in a number of countries and in some of those are considered to be a pest species. Payback for all the rubbish Oz has got from all over the world? Think rabbits, European carp, prickly pear, Bathurst and Noogoora burrs etc, etc.
