@golftragic H Marnie - we were a bit concerned about it when we bought the house 5 years ago.It's been pretty good though - we've got 22 solar panels and a 2.5KW inverter (not quite big enough) with a bank of 8 huge batteries. It's enough to run a normal house using tank water with pumps. The inverter occasionally squeals if too many pumps are running and you then try to use the microwave!! Otherwise it's been pretty good - except we can't run heaters etc - they draw too much power - hence the fire place, and the house is super insulated. It is great having no electrical bill and no water bill! :)
@golftragic Good grief - you were right - you'd freeze to death up here!! We've seen back packers in their swags in the N.P. - with icicles on their hair....... :)
