Hammerfest from the top of the hill.

This far north Northern fishing village is now an industrial centre for the production of natural gas. Huge amounts are processed but nearly all of it is exported - as in most a Norway the vast majority of electricity is produced by hydroelectric stations.

Hi Cateriina, Lesley,FB, Jackie, Ko, 4rky and Marnie - thanks to all of you for your appreciation of the toy town of Hammerfest! My camera has what is effectively a "tilt shift" setting on it - you just set the width that you want focused and it does the rest. This little view of the village seemed to cry out for that effect.
