We had a day out at the Golden Grove Winery ( Winner of Qld Best Winery, Best Viticulturist and Best Winemaker!) and Sam (the founder of the winery many years ago) gave us a tour and some idea of what the industry is facing at the moment. This is a brand new dam built in the hope of drought proofing the winery - $90,000 and if it ever fills it will supply enough water for the vines for three years. Those promising clouds came to nothing....
yep, we had a storm whip up yesterday and it lasted about 15 seconds I think. seriously, it pelted and then stopped immediately. after that, thunder and lightening and nothing.
