That is my preferred image of your IR serie of today. The trees are beautiful but it is the cloud that gets the attention. It has a lot of presence and looks threatening. We all wish the best for the situation in Australia. It makes the news headlines even in France now.

Hope the fires are brought under control very soon. There has been a lot of coverage in the UK news too. The efforts of volunteers and regular firefighters inspires a lot of respect.
@etienne Thanks for kind wishes about the fires Etienne - sadly they have gotten even worse. Huge parts of our country are being burnt by uncontrollable wildfires and there seems to be no end in sight. The clouds you mentioned in this photo have actually formed above a pall of smoke which you can also see. Unfortunately the clouds never drop any rain.....
@4rky Thanks for your thoughts 4rky Our firefighters are incredible but unfortunately there is no way they can win these battles. The wildfires are completely out of control and the only thing that will stop them is rain - or they burn themselves out when they finally reach the ocean. 4000 people were forced onto the beach in one area - waiting for the signal to enter the water when the fire reached them. It's an unbelievable nightmare......
