10 minutes over the border and such a difference. We live in the Gold Coast, Queensland - a tourist destination. Our beaches are just as nice as this - but our city is built right down to the beaches - malls, shops, high rise buildings, restaurants, private dwellings - all right on the beach. Over the state border in New South Wales the development has been much more controlled and ecologically based - hence, even in one of their cities you can walk on a beach and feel at one with nature.
