Thanks Casablanca, Susan, Shutterbug and Diana - your lovely comments are so nice to see - especially when this is such a hit and miss process with my camera. The odd success is pretty exciting!
BTW - sorry to have been uploading so many photos each time - the days just seem to slip by with nothing on 365...... Cheers Rob @casablanca@wakelys@shutterbug49@ludwigsdiana
It looks great. Some "silkyness" but still of detail in the water. It is a balancing act and it depends on how you want the result to be. I tend to go for max "smooth and silky" when I photograph water like this but then you often need a tripod or something solid to put your camera on (and it is very easy to go too far and blow out highlights - you have to experiment and take several shots with different settings)
I like that you have a little bit of both- silky water and detail. One of these days I'm going to learn how to use my ND filter and get a silky water shot- until then I just play around with the shutter speed and ISO. It never seems to work the same way twice but once in a while I get it! Great shot!
Hi Helge - thanks so much for your feedback - I really appreciate it. My little camera doesn't allow for too many changes but I'll try some experiments with the converted IR Nikon - it might be interesting to see what it does. Thanks again Cheers Rob @helstor
@olivetreeann Hi Ann - thanks for your feedback and thoughts. This was taken with my little camera so it doesn't allow for much in the way of experimentation. But you have reminded me that I have a ND filter for the Converted IR Nikon - so I'll have a play with it. Thanks again for your ideas. Cheers Rob
