Rabbits? - what rabbits?

These two little guys are definitely not living under the shipping container in our yard! It's not possible - rabbits are a declared noxious pest in Queensland. The keeping of a rabbit can incur a fine of over $60,000.....
Will you now have to put traps/poison down?

Oh dear, better get rid of them soon, a nice stew maybe ;-)

how did you go with the wild boars?

Aww but they’re so sweet!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Hi Jacky. They seem to come and go. When there are foxes around (nearly always unfortunately) they keep the numbers down. And when it gets cold and wet the Myxomatosis virus seems to become more active and sweep through the little group that sometimes lives under the container.
So we don't worry too much about them - and the babies are so cute!!

@ludwigsdiana LOL Diana - Errol and a mate shot a couple at one stage and we tried them - it was a pretty good stew - but a lot of trouble...... And the babies are so cute that I haven't encouraged them to do it again...

@koalagardens Hi Katrina. A local Stanthorpian was good enough to lend us the trap. We caught 2 young ones the second night it was set and he came to collect them. Apparently he's going to fatten them up! Then we caught a very big sow - too big for him to want. And really big to get rid of!
Unfortunately we never caught the big boar - and we weren't too sure that the trap would hold him anyway. The apples have all gone from the old orchard now and we haven't seen them again on the camera, so hopefully it's safe to walk again.
Thanks for asking. :)
