From a grain area we travelled further on into a cotton area. Cotton brings in big money for the very big companies growing it. Unfortunately, it also uses very large amounts of water - in an area where water is liquid gold.....
I wasn't aware of the need of large amounts of water in growing cotton. The other problem is the fact that all the other choices of yarn for manufacturing clothing are synthetic which are derived from fossil fuels.
Hi everyone - I'm so sorry but just read all of your responses to the whole cotton situation in our outback areas, and then tried to look at your images. No Go !! Reception is terrible -from Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory.
I hope it improves tomorrow and I can respond to your images. In the meantime, thanks for all your interest and ideas. Cheers Rob
