The mouth of the Murray river is just as amazing as the river itself, with barrages and thin sand banks defining it's passage.
The Murray is the third longest navigable river in the world, after the Amazon and Nile. It's 2520 kilometres long and, in the old days, paddlesteamers were used to carry wool, wheat, and other goods up and down the river.
@ankers70 It's all so amazing. We had never visited it before - just driven along The Coorong during a drought, and been very disappointed by what we saw then. But it really is fascinating and the boat trip was fabulous. Like you we loved it. Cheers Rob
I love that area. We stayed on Hindmarsh Island a couple of years ago and had a great time exploring.
