Mt Upfield N.P. by robz

Mt Upfield N.P.

1.5 hours from Hobart and just beautiful. The west and central sections of Tassie are very wet - lots of waterfalls and moss forests!
Nice lighting and movement in the water...this looks a bit like a half/half shot...interesting how that challenge has made me look at things since.

@granagringa That challenge was a great thought provoker - and this has it due to the light again - sun could reach one side - with the main waterfall. The forests here have been just outstanding. :)

Beautifully smooth and fluid!

@fbailey Thanks for you feedback FB - I'm still undecided about whether or not I like that smoothed out look for the water. Cheers Rob

@robz Oh I love it, still trying to get it right

Just gorgeous! If it weren't for the palm trees, I'd think it was here! I think the smoothed out water is perfect. If I were to "improve" anything it would be to shrink the vignette just a little bit so more of the forest shows. A subjective suggestion at best!

@olivetreeann Thanks so much for your feedback Ann! I really appreciate it. That soft edge was an attempt to rein in the green! It is actually such an incredible colour that it seemed very artificial - and I was a bit concerned that the water was the same. My camera is just a "point and shoot" and it is tricky to get it to do longer exposures without other consequences. I agree with you that the edge is too big LOL - will have to play with PicMonkey to find some other way of dealing with it. Thanks again for your help!! Cheers Rob

@robz I have a Powershot too- different number. I think you can enlarge or shrink the vignette in Picmonkey- I'll have to do a picture on there to see for sure. I wouldn't downplay the green if that's the way it looked. Everyone expects a rain forest to be lush! I am not able to get my Powershot to the settings you used for this shot. I have to do that on my T3i but I've got a lot of practicing and experimenting to do before I get a slo-mo water effect as nice as this.
