One big shoe - many small victims.....

I was prompted to make this composite this morning after walking on our forest track. I realized I was squashing assorted plants with every step I took. All of these were photographed this morning - they are all roughly to the same scale as the shoe.
Great picture! Inventive, sharp, colored. Fav

ha ha what a fun idea... and seems almost sad to be stepping on such cute ground cover... looks like a fairy village :)

Great idea, and what a beautiful assortment of little plants & fungi. I guess tip toeing is a bit much to manage on a forest hike!

Most creatively done -- and a little heartbreaking when I think of my walks on Beaver Island and what I've done!

Gives new meaning to "tip toe through the Tulips"! Some of them may spring back up though. They seem to be pretty resilient! Fun shot for the scale factor!

Such a cool shot. At first glance they looked like little eyeballs!!

@ulla Thanks Ulrika - luckily they were more spread out than here - ablt to be avoided to some extent! Cheers rob

@suzanne234 Luckily our forest down here is not too big - and this section of pathway is only about 40m long - so tippy toes does work if you're careful. They are so cute - but I think they'll die off pretty quickly when it gets hot and dry again. :)

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks Jackie - I wasn't too pleased with the shoe - but it did give a sense of size. Thanks for your encouragement! :)

@taffy Thanks Taffy - it's so hard not to squash things accidently -- especially when you are focusing on something else. And as Ann said - I guess a lot of them are pretty tough - they must get squashed by other creatures too..... :)

@olivetreeann Thanks Ann - And I guess you are right about them having mechanisms to survive. They do seem to spring up, produce spores and then die off very quickly - in just a couple of days. They are fun to see though! Cheers Rob

@dkbarnett Those funny little pebble ones do look like eyeballs - YUK! But they are quite cute in real life. I've posted a close up of a single one - the "pebbles" are fascinating. :)
