This odd thing was a very exciting find. It is the first seed pod from a rainforest tree we planted over 20 years ago.

@dkbarnett Hi Delwyn - it is exciting - we can now say we have a miniature rainforest - lots of the trees have produced seeds - seedlings will be the next step!! Yea!

@madeinnl Thanks Ko - the seed casing was a bit transparent - so it got that nice glow when the light hit it.

@gamelee LOL Lee - it's not quite that bad. About 25 years ago we planted a small rainforest on some degraded land - it is now a very tall rainforest section. A lot of the trees have flowered before - this one was just a bit slow. So it was exciting when it produced this. :)
