Stanley is on the very N coast of Tasmania. It is the site of the first white development in the N.W. of Tasmania. This occurred in the 1820s on the headland across the bay from The Nut. Highfield was settled by representatives of a private company called Van Dieman's Land Land Co.
@golftragic This was really interesting Marnie - especially the Highfield settlement - beautifully restored and well researched information - and they don't try to gloss over the dark aspects of its history
