Texture and Form. by robz

Texture and Form.

The edge of the Staghorn Fern provided both the texture and the basic form. I sort of liked the abrasiveness of the straight horizontal section at the bottom - it seemed to add a bit of an "in your face" attitude to the natural curves. All a bit weird anyway!
I must go into the other room and have a look at the edge of mine now!

What an interesting shot. I kind of like it with the horizontal line cropped out. I have a hard time really rocking abstracts and admire your creativity and courage to experiment

You've done this abstract very well, I like it a lot.

@fbailey LOL - your staghorn is very spoilt living inside - I guess my poor fellow wouldn't survive in your winters. This was the edge of the spore frond. :)

@jgpittenger Hi Jane - thanks for your thoughts. I tried it cropped and it was better just as a photo - but then as an abstract I liked the confusion of the horizontal section. It's funny but I really like playing with the abstracts - so thanks for your very kind words above, but I think it probably just boils down to a streak of weirdness!! LOL Cheers Rob

@golftragic Thanks Marnie - that edge of the staghorn always calls to me when it's covered in spores. :)

@robz No plant is spoilt living with me, definitely survival of the fittest:)
