The Snow Flake Festival was a by-product of the snow falls in Stanthorpe about 3 years ago. Local groups thought that city people would like the thought that it might snow and the guarantee that there would be artificial snow, ice for skating and multiple cold weather activities for adults and kids. It's turned into a hugely popular event with over 12,000 people visiting this year - and all profits go to the volunteer groups that organize it. A huge success!
I love the title. As soon as I scrolled down and seen the image I thought 'There's always one' then I seen your title. Definitly brought a smile to my face.
@gilbertwood Hi Denise - the Snowflakes concept has been such a success. So we now have a major event every year - Snowflakes alternates with the Apple and Grape festival. All organized by volunteers and both are so well done. Great for the region - although the water used was a big issue this year.... :)
@kgolab Thanks for your nice comment. These crazy little penguins brought lots of smiles to kid's faces tiny little kids could push them around on the ice and not fall over. :)
@golftragic Hi Marnie - it was a ripper weekend - a real credit to all the volunteers. The penguins were wonderful - tiny little kids pushed them around and didn't fall over. :)
@casablanca Hi Casablanca - it was so much fun - and we didn't even have any kids with us! It's a really super day for the kids - and they loved pushing these crazy penguins around on the ice. We're looking forward to when Vinny is big enough to go. XX
