The National Wine Centre is housed in a fantastic modern building in the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide. It showcases the wine industry from throughout Australia.
@casablanca Lol Casablanca - so did we - and they do allow tastings. However, unlike the granite belt, the tastings are organized by machines (not actual people who can talk about the wine, probably planted the grapes, harvested them and made the wine too) and you need a credit card to do it - at Stanthorpe ours are free. Here you choose the one you want to taste, pop in the old credit card, push the small button ( 25mls - $2.50- $11 or more), the medium button (50mls - $5 - $30 or more) or the full glass (100mls - $11- $???) The Penfolds Grange was $45 for the 25ml size!! We tried a few just cause we were there - but really it was a bit crazy!! Fabulous building though. XX
@onewing It was a good spot to visit Babs - fabulous building in the Botanic Gardens which are marvellous. Don't go there to taste the wines though - you pay over $2.50 for each tasting! :)
@peadar Lol Peter - this place would have appealed to you for the building alone - it was fabulous. I'm afraid the wine may have disappointed - it was a fine range and you could taste anything - but you sure paid for it all! :)
