Very nice for WWYD. Unfortunately too true for many of us. I am half way around the globe from you and we have the same scare. Although we arenât as bad as last year.
you are all so slamming this challenge and I've not even had a moment to think, let alone try. this is just so brilliant, even if it gives me chills having been inundated by smoke all week. I'd give this extra favs if I could!
Interesting bushfire theme for the WWYD. Unfortunately, we don't often think of the animals that are affected by bushfires because we are too concerned with people.
Hope you aren't too close to the fires at present.
@shutterbug49 Hi Shutterbug - it has been so bad here - and it's only the first week of Spring. The predictions for Summer are just awful... I'm pleased to hear you had a bit of a break from it this year.
Hi Katrina - thanks for your kind comment - the starting image for this one was very inviting! Are your koalas worried by the smoke that you've been getting? It makes me sick to think of what's happened up here - so many acres of bush destroyed. Luckily the NP wasn't hit this time so that might have saved some wildlife....
@onewing Hi Babs - we just happened to be on the Gold Coast when the worst fires were raging on the Granite Belt. We're going back up tomorrow - I think it might be very depressing to see......
@robz Very much so unfortunately. I simply can't believe that those kids were so contemptuous of other people's lives and homes that they lit the bloody Peregian Beach fire deliberately. I firmly believe that when a fire's deliberately lit the culprits (if caught) should face charges of murder if someone dies, and many years in gaol anyway.
@golftragic There seems to be the need for some sort of serious deterrent - even if they are kids. I think this will probably get more attention as these fires get more frequent...
@robz By their mid-teens kids are quite capable of knowing right from wrong, and about cause and effect as simple as lighting fires in the bush. Lock 'em up.
Rob- I loved your take on the challenge and would have put it up as #7! I just couldn't bring myself to put so many up for the vote. Now that I've posted the silly thing I'm wishing I'd put you in there as an honorable mention- it truly was that close. Anyway- I'm faving this to say thanks and praying the bush fires subside asap!! (Loved ?? the poor little hopping bunnies!)
