Taking off by rosiekind

Taking off

I first saw the heron further along the river and just as I was about to take a pic, he decided to take off (see my collage in Bits & Bobs album) but when I walked along the other side of the bank in the opposite direction, I thought I might find him at the mill pool. Well he wasn't on the edge of the pool but a bit further away in the field. Just as I pointed the camera at him, he decided to take off but fortunately, I had my camera on manual settings which were correct and I managed to get him. I was delighted and it was a good start to the weekend. I'm whacked out now as I must have walked about 3 miles across rough terrain
