I wasn't sure whether I liked this pic because the robin is sitting in a tree with red leaves which means he doesn't stand out so well. However, I liked robin redbreast so much that I posted it anyway. I was feeling a bit despondent as I went for a walk along Wood Lane and didn't see much in the way of birds at all. Lots of gulls in the newly ploughed fields and I could hear birds but couldn't see them. I will be glad when the leaves decide to leave the trees because I should get some better shots. Anyway, I heard and then saw this robin in our neighbour's tree who lives opposite us and was just focusing on him when the school bus pulled up right beside me. However, despite all this I managed to get some shots.
I've just looked at the Exif info on this shot and think my camera has been doing funny things. I can't believe I had the ISO so ridiculously high and the shutter speed so high. What ever is going on? I also found when I uploaded my pics I had also shot half in RAW as well as JPEG - weird!
Must be that your camera picked up on a darker area than a lighter one and so 'thought' it needed the higher stuff!
It's a great photo Rosie...I like the red behind it...it still stands out against it and your focus is wonderful.
