Walking into Wellington - back country

Colonial Knob, The South Island in the background haze.
When walking on Wellington ridges you can see for miles. The track passed Mt Kaukau and the Skyline Track, it was exposed even on a great day it was windy. Being fully exposed to the wind from all directions and at times having to crawl to keep moving. The open fields of sheep grazing, TV masts high on the hills with views in every direction, a great place to view NZ capital, Wellington.
Very serene :)
Do you get lonely when walking alone? How many days did you spent walking? How about food, bath, etc.?
I love walking as well and I have so many questions! :)
For now I only walk daily to school, around 4 km. I walk slowly so it takes 1 hour. :)
