Not true, just a final collection of detailed shots of the papier mache floats. We spent three of our 4 evenings in Sicily watching the carnival in Acireale before we ended the evening with a lovely meal – not the fast food type - and then to bed.
To answer Rick's and Anne's queries about what happens to the maskes after carnival, what I know (through the internet) is that they just destroy them.
