This old balcony has been left to rot and has been like this for as long as I can remember. From the looks of it it seems that its last use was as a pigeon loft - you can see what's left of that creeper falling down from the louvred shutter, way down almost to the ground. It is situated at the corner between an alley and a street. Old houses on this part of Sliema have given way to modern apartment blocks as can be seen on the left had side of the picture. It will not be long before this place is demolished too.
Thank you for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday's picture. Thanks also for correcting my belief that it was a mosquito - for me they're all the same.
@aud_c Many thanks for your comments. The place is next to the Melita Football Club. Don't know the name of the street but it's right behind Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Balluta.
Great theme entry! Wonder if there are still pigeons using it as a home
