On 14th July, the first day of our vacation when we stayed at Evian it was Bastille Day, the French’s National Day commemorating the taking of the Bastille by the people which was the spark which started the French Revolution and eventually led to the removal of the monarchy and the establishment of the French Republic. We were so lucky to be there on that day as it was not originally planned. Thousands of people thronged from the surrounding areas to Evian to celebrate. As night fell people began looking for advantageous positions along the Lac Leman to enjoy a fireworks show. It was a nice show and I took many pictures, even though for us Maltese, fireworks are an everyday occurrence in Summer. I have selected what I think were my best captures and included them in this collage.
Thank you so very much for looking and for your wonderful comments on yesterday’s picture.
Fireworks are an everyday occurrence in summer in Malta!? Wow, I need to visit in summer then! We rarely have fireworks. Only on New Year's Eve and National Day. I love fireworks. They are wonderful to see. Beautiful collage, Dione, these fireworks look fantastic!
