15th June. We arrived at Courmayer at last. This is the view we saw from one of the 6 windows we had in our room. You cannot miss the place, the sign is just below our window.
Courmayeur is in Aosta Valley, in northern Italy. It is located at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in western Europe, in the Graian Alps range. It shares the summit of Mont Blanc with Chamonix in France, and owns the title of highest commune in Italy. The mountain scenery around Courmayeur is spectacular, with 14 4,000m plus mountain peaks above. The resort is one of several internationally famous centres and ski locations in the Aosta Valley.
The small village beyond the street and the river which flows parallel to it is Dolonne.
