A quick posting from my 19th March album. We are taking Michaela out for a picnic as it is the last day of her Easter holidays. Will try and catch up on commenting on my return.
Another view of the street decorations on the feast day. This is the main road of the area where the church is. At the top end they raised a wooden triumphal arch to mark the beginning of the street. This would be dismantled immediately the feast is over. Many people strolled about this street, some discussing various subjects, some eating food bought from stalls erected around the place and some just strolled like we did to enjoy the ambient.
thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
So much grandeur and ao many people...a wonderful celebration....thanks for these wonderful posts and all the info! Enjoy the picnic and have a great weekend!
I must say Dione, the Maltese (not sure I spelled that correctly) are masters of pageantry and ornate festival decor! I can't believe that arch is wood and will be deconstructed as quickly as it went up!
