From my 19th March, 2013 album, once more. Another difficult shot I took of the inside of the church, this time from the opposite angle. No wonder it was packed. A concelebrated mass was taking place with the archbishop of the Maltese diocese leading the congregation. You can see him on his ‘throne’ holding his ‘bishop’s staff’ (we were friends when we were very young and that was before he went for the priesthood). There was also the Acting President of Malta (the President was abroad on the day) – she is the lady with short hair in the middle of the front row.
On the pulpit (partly hidden) is the priest delivering his homily in praise of the saint for the occasion. Homilies are delivered from the pulpit only on the day when the feast of the patron saint is being celebrated.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.
