Sunday, 29th December, was a fabulous day for me, photography-wise, when I had a whole day of photo-shooting opportunities.
Just like the Three Kings (there were six of us, though) we finally made it to ‘Bethlehem’ a re-enactment presented by the residents of Għajnsielem. This show all made up of volonteers from the village has become the biggest Christmas presentation of the Maltese Islands with thousands of Maltese crossing over to see it.
In the left picture you can see the maker of ‘Pasturi’ – small statues made of terracotta. I was amazed at the detail in his work. Top right is Mary Rose, my sister-in-law, stroking a donkey’s head. Below that is my brother-in-law patting a horse (he kept his hand a bit away, a little afraid to touch him).
It was very difficult to take acceptable shots in the prevailing conditions there. To this can be added the constant movement of people around the places of interest.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments and your fav's on yesterday's shot.
Your day out was obviously very special. Thanks for sharing it with us. Love the bemused look on the artist's face contrasted with the tentative looks on your in-laws
