Shot taken at Marsaxlokk fishing village.
This lady was helping her fisherman husband in sorting out his fishing nets. Malta’s fishing fleet consists of a few full timers who go out in large boats and stay out on the sea for days and many part-time fishermen who have smaller boats and who go out fishing very early in the morning and return during the same day. Many amateur fishermen register as part-time fishermen to get government subsidies on their boats and (not sure) tackle.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.
