This is the first blossom which has sprouted on my peach tree. It should be a sign of Spring but this is an early-flowering peach tree and the weather is not indicative of Spring yet. In fact we had cold and rain for the last 24 hours. Thank God, the sky is clear this morning bringing some photography possibilities.
I planted this peach tree to replace another, a late flowering one. I did this because, although the latter’s fruit are more delicious I could never save them from the many insects that attack them and I don’t enjoy much spraying with insecticides. The early flowering trees produce loads and loads of fruit which ripen before the insects start attacking them. So many peaches to eat through the late Spring-early Summer months.
Thank you very much for looking and for your wonderful comments on yesterday’s picture.
