Continuing on yesterday’s rescue theme, my brother and I lost sight of the rescue boat as it went out of the shelter of Marsamxett so we walked briskly to the other side of Sliema, facing the open sea to see if we could follow it from there. We saw it bobbing up and down not far out. All of a sudden a rescue helicopter came along to help in the search. I availed myself of the opportunity to take some shots of the helicopter. Here is one of the shots I took.
I don’t know for sure, but since no casualties were reported at sea on the day, it appeared that the S.O.S. call and all the efforts of the AFM were unwarranted after all or simply a training excercise.
Monday is a public holiday – the feast of the shipwreck of St Paul on the Maltese Islands in 60AD – and so we have a long week-end without having to care or take to school the grandchildren. I will not be on the internet before Monday at the earliest.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.
Have a great time. Enjoy it.
Hope you and your family have a lovely weekend.
A sincere thanks for visiting my project while I've been at sea.
