A BOAR CALLED WILLIE by sangwann

A BOAR CALLED WILLIE

Willie: “This is ridiculous having me standing here behind glass all day long”
Butcher: “You should be heartfully thankful to me. I have made you a star. Everybody stops to look at you.”
Willie: “How can I be heartfully thankful if I have no heart! It’s just my coat stuffed in whatever you call it. This is shameful for a proud boar like me who happily roamed the mountains.”
Butcher: “Look at it this way. You could have died a lonely dead and nobody would have known you existed. In this way you have filled many stomachs and you are still an interesting subject to look at.”
Willie: “That is not convincing at all. My life was better roaming the mountains and breathing the fresh air.”

I have seen others like him decorating butcher shops in Tuscany – one I remember was in Siena.

Thank you very much for looking and for your wonderful comments and the fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
Fancy having the pig in the butcher's shopo. It's a great shot Dione.

Nice portrait of him, if a bit sad that he's no longer roaming the hills.

You noticed a prime photo op when you saw it, making Willie all the more well-known by sharing his picture here. Your narrative was amusing, and likely very true, from Willie's pov.

It must be very bo(a)ring having to stand in a butcher's shop all day! ;-)
