Even without the barge the fireworks enthusiasts of the parish managed to give a lovely show of fireworks on Saturday night – not those big ones that open up and fill the sky but quite a nice show in the circumstances. I had my tripod in the car but left it there thinking that I wouldn’t need it. In fact because of the crowd around me and the confined space I didn’t have any use for it and I had a difficult time to take these shots in long exposure without getting the scene all blurred.
Joke: A lonely lady spinster decided it was time she got married – at least to have some company. So she made out an advert and on the eve of the feast she stuck copies to all the trees around the parish church. The ad read : 'Husband Wanted'.
Next day she received a hundred letters.
They all said the same thing: 'You can have mine.'
