This is the most beautiful and spectacular fireworks display I have seen this year, even surpassing that of Lija of which I showed some shots some days ago. The Stella Maris parish, like all parishes in and around Sliema does not have its own fireworks factory and so has to buy them from other factories in Malta.
I set my tripod on the centre strip to be away from the frontliners as I was afraid somebody would trip – not that I cared about that but I was afraid they would drop my camera and break it. Both sides of the road were closed to traffic throughout the occasion.
This was not the first fireworks shot for the day. You can see that smoke from previous rounds are still in the air because there was no wind to carry it away.
Thank you so much for looking and for all your comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
